Missa Brevis in Unison

Published: 2020

“Missa Brevis in Unison” offers an important contribution to the repertoire of Masses for any voice. While it was written to be suitable for a “socially distanced” performance during the COVID-19 pandemic, it may also be performed by a unison choir with some optional harmonies on occasion. The musical ideas of the work draw inspiration from the mass liturgy as well as the beauty and healing nature of Australia’s magnificent oceans and beaches. In the words of St Pauls’ Melbourne music director, Philip Nichols, the work reflects “vast landscapes of active reconciliation and boundless grace.”
