Hear, O Israel

Originally commissioned by The Choir of St James, Sydney, for performances throughout Europe, the text of ‘Hear O Israel’ incorporates Hebrew and Christian scriptures with Anglican liturgy, central to the Judeo-Christian tradition: Sh’ma yIsrael Hear, O Israel! (Deuteronomy 6:4-5, Mark 12:29-31). Reflecting the significance and gravitas of the text, the music is powerful and mysterious.
