Wishing everyone a happy #NaidocWeek2021 as we celebrate the wonders of the longest continuous culture; our First Nations Australians.
I have had the honour setting words to music by First Nations poet and activist #OodgerooNoonuccal in two of my choral works, most recently in my “Australian Song Cycle.” Pictured is an except of this poem, “Time Is Running Out”; a poignant message of anger at the destruction of sacred, stolen land and the hope of a better tomorrow as we continue to deal with climate change.
Very much looking forward to being with the amazing @sydneychamberchoir when this is finally performed when lockdowns are lifted and singing is safe again.
