Found a snippet of old footage of me playing the piano when I was about 8 years old 👦🎹🙊
I was #SuzukiMethod trained at that point, playing “Arietta” by #Mozart 💕

Earlier today the amazing @vanbadham asked for a musical setting of the passionate words of one of the poor victims of the devastating #AustralianFires, dobbed me in, so I whipped up this little ditty today. I love that anyone can perform this to keep the message going.
Feel free to perform!
*Also, please consider donating to the Australian Red Cross through this post and other organisations. All jokes and outrage aside, this is serious and people need all the help we can give 🙏💕*
So earlier today, I issued a musical challenge on social media: could someone come up with a song made from the words of the Cobargo residents who hounded Scott Morrison out of town?
Of course, people have come through! Amazing genius Joe Twist has composed “How Good Is It?”, a free piece of music which you are encouraged to perform and sing on your own, in a group or in a choir – so those people in Cobargo who the usual rightwing loudmouths are presently attempting to slag and bully on their megaphones can *absolutely know* that when they spoke up, they sang out loud for all of us.
I would love to see what you do with it. However you sing, whatever you play. More composers and singers are responding to my challenge – I shall share ALL the results. (at Burleigh Heads, Queensland)

#2019 has been an incredible year from #Bluey screening on TV around the world to this stunning performance by @sydneysymphonyorchestra for #BobHawke’s memorial, plus all the film music and choral music I work on in Los Angeles, it’s been a great year. Writing this for Bob and for #Australia was such a huge honour and a major highlight. Thank you to so many wonderful friends I get to make music with around the world!

Hey Australia, I’ll be home for Christmas! 💕🇦🇺🎄🙏
A few weeks ago I noticed QANTAS International was selling cheap flights to Australia to celebrate their 100th birthday. Since I haven’t been home for Christmas in 7 years, I decided to nab some, so I’m coming home for Christmas! Well actually I won’t arrive until the 27th because I have all that lovely singing to do, but then it’s home to Australia for a short visit

I love that song. Here’s a co-arrangement I did of it for @melbournesymphonyorchestra and @theideaofnorth a few years back as part of a big narrative Christmas medley 😍

Yesterday I found out that three different pieces of mine were released on three different albums this week, two in the USA, one in Australia. Seriously honoured that so many people are performing and recording my music 💕
Here’s one of them, by the amazing The Australian Voices, my piece “Kulnig” is based on an old Scandinavian mountain song, and featuring the incredible Soprano amazingness of Dani Stacey Settle. Thank you TAV and Gordon Hamilton!
Posted @withrepost • @theaustralianvoices Friends, our new #album ‘Elsewhere’ is now available on #iTunes, #AppleMusic, #Spotify, #GooglePlay (and even as a physical piece of plastic). We’ve enjoyed making it and we hope you are able to have a listen! Link in bio. 🎻🎺🎵🎼
